Overview
Pygmalion's Folly is a horror murdersim for players who want tense, punishing survival stories rather than lighthearted romps. It plays cold and cruel, with no easy outs.
Story
A detective closing in on his sister's killer becomes the hunted instead of the hunter, waking in the basement of a doctor whose brilliance has curdled into madness. Over five days of captivity, the detective must find a way to survive torments that defy natural law, with the basement offering thirty different ways for the story to end—some leading to justice, others to something far worse.
Gameplay
Each day in the basement presents choices about how to resist, comply, or search for an escape, with consequences that branch toward one of many endings. Survival depends on reading the doctor's moods and the basement's dangers correctly, since a wrong move can close off paths permanently. The game tracks these decisions across its short timeline, rewarding careful play with routes toward rescue and punishing missteps with darker, often fatal outcomes.
Features
- Thirty distinct endings spanning escape, capture, and worse fates
- Static 2D art depicting the basement's horrors from a close, personal perspective
- A tight five-day structure that keeps every choice consequential
Notes
This is a heavy horror title built around non-consent and graphic violence throughout; it is not a romance or comedy game, and players sensitive to those themes should be aware before starting.
Installation
1. Extract and run.
